Human Trafficking Survivor Resources

If you’re a survivor of human trafficking, you can submit a request for Edge to remove or block adverse information resulting from human trafficking from your Edge Consumer (background) Report by sending a letter explaining your request and the required supporting documents and information (see below for more) to Edge. Once you have the required items, send your request to Edge in one of the following ways:

For Edge to process your request to remove or block information from your Edge consumer report that is a result from human trafficking, you will need to include the following documents and information with your request:

  1. Proof of your identity
    • One copy of a government-issued identification card such as a driver’s license, state ID card, or passport. If you cannot provide proof of identity from one of the documents above, you can call us at 800-889-4473 to verify your identity over the phone.
  2. Trafficking documentation
    • Include at least one of the following:
      • A determination of victim status from a federal, state, or tribal government entity;
      • A determination of victim status from a non-governmental organization or member of a human trafficking task force authorized by the government to make such a determination;
      • Court documents showing victim status; or
      • A self-attestation that you are a victim signed or certified by a representative from a government entity, court, an authorized non-governmental organization, or human trafficking task force.
  3. Identification of adverse information
    • You must identify the adverse (negative) information that resulted from trafficking.
  4. Preferred method of contact 
    • You must provide how you would like to be contacted and provide the contact details (phone number, address, email, etc.).

FAQ’s

What types of trafficking are covered? 

  • Sex Trafficking: the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, or soliciting of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act.
  • Labor Trafficking: recruiting or obtaining a person using force, fraud, or coercion to work against their will.

 

Will my information as a trafficking victim be visible or shared with anyone?

  • Information about human trafficking or any documentation you share with us will not be part of your Consumer Report.
