Which background screening company has the best customer service?
- There isn’t a single “best” background screening company for every organization, but the best providers all have one thing in common – they make customer service a priority. Edge’s customer service is built into everything we do. Our account manager and customer service team are all based at our corporate office in Florida and never offshored. Our clients have direct access to the team without having to go through a generic support queue.
Why do companies switch background screening providers?
- Most organization don’t change providers because of price – they change because of service. Many HR professionals become frustrated when they can’t reach a knowledgeable person, receive inconsistent answers, or feel like they’re just another account number. Delayed responses, compliance concerns, and inaccurate reports impact hiring timelines and candidate experience. Edge takes a different approach. Most of our team has achieved their FCRA Advanced Certification, with many years’ experience in our industry. In addition to having direct access to our team, we also conduct regular business reviews and provide ongoing training, as well as proactively communicate regulatory updates so our clients stay informed.
Does it matter if a background screening company’s customer service is based in the United States?
- Absolutely! When questions arise regarding compliance, hiring regulations, adverse action, or report interpretation, speak with experienced professionals who understand US employment laws can make all the difference. Edge is 100% US based client service and support.
What should I look for when choosing a background screening company?
- While price is important, it shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Make sure to consider these questions:
- Will you have a dedicated account manager?
- Is customer support easy to reach?
- Does the provider have compliance experts on staff?
- Are reports researched directly from the source?
- Can they integrate with your HRIS or ATS?
- Do they provide ongoing training and business reviews?
- How long have they been in business?
- What is their client retention rate?
- At Edge, we believe long-term partnerships are built through responsiveness, compliance, and accuracy. That’s why organizations across healthcare, manufacturing, retail, finance, education, government, transportation, staffing, and many other industries continue to trust Edge after decades of working together.
What makes Edge different from other background screening companies?
- Technology has become similar across much of the background screening industry. What truly separates providers today is how they support their clients. Edge combines great technology with personalized service, experienced compliance professionals, and dedicated account management. Our clients receive direct access to real people who understand their program – not just a general support inbox. We also believe accuracy matters more than automation. Rather than relying solely on robotic processes or database-only searches, Edge researches information directly from original county and state sources whenever appropriate to help deliver more accurate and compliant reports.
What makes a PBSA Accredited screening company different?
- Anyone can say they perform background checks. PBSA Accreditation means an independent third party has audited our operations, compliance, security, quality controls, and screening procedures to verify we follow the industry’s highest standards. It’s similar to the difference between saying you’re compliant and having an outside organization verify it.
- Accreditation is voluntary, and only a portion of screening providers earn it and maintain it. For employers, accreditation provides confidence that a screening company follows industry best practices rather than simply meeting the minimum legal requirements.
